We are looking for a Technical Writing Manager to lead a small team of technical writers, shaping documentation strategy across our products and supporting teams.
Responsibilities
- Support and mentor a team of technical writers, delivering clear, consistent and highâquality technical documentation.
- Shape the documentation strategy for your scope, ensuring alignment with product and domain strategy.
- Foster an environment where technical documentation advocates for user success across Checkout.com Documentation, Merchant Support site, and API reference.
- Use AI and automation to improve documentation processes and drive quality.
- Collaborate with Design, Product, Engineering and other crossâfunctional teams.
Qualifications
- Experience leading and developing a small team of technical writers, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
- A portfolio that demonstrates expertise in creating clear, humanâcentered documentation in American English.
- Experience in setting up advanced reporting and analytics processes/tooling.
- Experience in embedding research (self or external) into the content process.
- Experience with procurement.
- Understanding of larger product and domain strategy, and ability to communicate that to the team.
- Ability to champion the discipline and represent the team with key stakeholders and crossâfunctional peers.
- Experience using and documenting APIs and complex software.
- Familiarity with the processes required to manage a tech stack like ours (custom site, selfâhosted via AWS, React, Node.js, Next.js, Open APIâcompliant spec, Redocly).
- Experience with different technologies in the discipline (Docsâasâcode, GitHub, Jira, and ZenDesk).
- Consistently puts users at the heart of the work and understands the value of technical documentation and support content in the user journey.
- Reviews work with care and attention to detail, providing constructive feedback that elevates the team's output.
- Navigate uncertainty with grace and openness.
