Checkout.com powers billions of transactions yearly for customers like eBay, ASOS, Klarna, Uber Eats and Sony. With 19 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we're performance‐obsessed, fast‐moving, and dedicated to building the future of fintech.

Job Description

You will sit within the People team, partnering closely with People Partners, Total Rewards and business leaders. You will lead the development and operational delivery of our performance and goals process, ensuring it is simple, fair and aligned with how we work. The role is high‐impact and offers room to shape strategy and drive real outcomes across the company.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the development and execution of performance management strategies and operational plans.
  • Manage end‐to‐end execution of performance review cycles.
  • Drive automation of performance operations processes and implement new tools and systems to support a high‐performance culture.
  • Monitor adoption and engagement, following up with teams to ensure compliance with mandatory processes (e.g., goal setting).
  • Maintain performance dashboards and reporting tools, providing visibility into key metrics for managers and leadership.
  • Generate insights from performance data to highlight trends, adoption issues and operational blockers.
  • Define, implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across all departments and roles.
  • Assist with training sessions, guides and communications to support the rollout of performance programmes.
  • Collaborate with People Partners and Tech teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of performance management systems.
  • Collaborate with Recruitment to identify high‐performer traits and support talent mapping through data analysis.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience owning or supporting performance management processes in a high‐growth, fast‐paced company.
  • Strong understanding of goal‐setting frameworks (e.g., SMART goals, OKRs) and how they drive performance and accountability.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, comfortable running processes end‐to‐end.
  • Clear, confident communicator who can influence managers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Hands‐on mindset: comfortable building new templates as well as advising on policy.
  • Strong collaborator who thrives in cross‐functional work, especially with Reward, People Ops and business teams.
  • Experience working with HRIS or performance management systems (e.g., Workday, Lattice, CultureAmp).
  • A passion for making performance processes simple, human and effective.

We create the conditions for high performers to thrive—through real ownership, fewer blockers and work that makes a difference from day one. It’s a place where ambition meets opportunity, and where your growth is in your hands. We work as one team, back each other to succeed, and welcome all backgrounds and identities.
