Overview
In this role you drive Intelligent Acceptance, scaling AI-driven optimization across the payment lifecycle. You lead a portfolio of products, working with engineering, data science and merchants to boost acceptance, reduce costs and manage fraud risk. You shape strategy, prioritise capabilities and guide product design to maximize merchant value. The role combines leadership, data-driven decision making and cross-functional collaboration to transform how payments perform for customers at scale.

Responsibilities
- Set a multi-year vision and roadmap for merchant payment optimization
- Unify the portfolio around a shared strategy and product principles
- Balance acceptance, cost and fraud risk at payment and merchant levels
- Identify incremental optimization opportunities based on merchant needs and measurable value
- Define metrics for incremental merchant value and embed experimentation and causal measurement
- Own the portfolio economics, including investment, adoption, packaging and pricing
- Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Product Marketing and Customer Success to communicate value and bring capabilities to market
- Co-own Data Science roadmap and ensure alignment between product problems and modeling approaches
- Lead Product Managers and build an effective operating model across Engineering, Data Science, Analytics and Design
- Align stakeholders around evidence-based priorities and trade-offs
- Deliver measurable improvements in acceptance and cost with fraud guardrails
- Establish a joint operating model across Product, Engineering and Data Science
- Develop a path toward merchant-configurable optimization
- Build a high-performing team with clear accountability across the suite
Key requirements
- Deep experience in payment optimization, including acquiring, authorization performance, routing and payment economics
- Track record of setting strategy and delivering outcomes across multiple products or teams
- Proven success in leading and developing Product Managers
- Ability to bring clarity to complex, ambiguous problems
- Strong quantitative judgment with experimentation, measurement and financial analysis
- Credibility with Engineering and Data Science teams on decisioning or optimization products
- Commercial judgment linking technical capabilities to merchant value and business outcomes
- Clear, persuasive communication with merchants, teams and executives
