This is a fast-paced role designed for high potential people at the start of their public affairs careers. Operating as the ‘right hand’ to the Director of External Affairs, you will assist on a wide range of high-impact global projects. This is a unique opportunity to quickly learn how public affairs can add material value to a high growth global fintech.
The External Affairs team sits within the Legal, Risk and Compliance department, and manages Checkout.com’s engagement with regulators, governments and other third parties. External Affairs at Checkout.com covers strategic response, government relations, public policy, regulatory affairs and licensing. The team is growing rapidly, with new roles being created around the world.
What you’ll do
- Research: Assist the Director of External Affairs by researching new subjects and drafting tailored summaries.
- Briefing notes: Draft all briefing notes for external engagements, including messaging.
- Stakeholder mapping and engagement: Prepare stakeholder maps and engagement plans.
- Strategic response: Assist the Director of External Affairs with special projects.
- Operations: Ensure the External Affairs team is running smoothly by tracking team metrics and preparing dashboards.
What we are looking for
- 1-2 years working as a parliamentary researcher, an agency account executive, or equivalent.
- A 2.1 degree from a top university.
- A practical, solutions-oriented focus and enthusiasm for taking on new challenges.
- Impeccable written communication.
- An interest in the finance and technology industries.
