Checkout.com is looking for an enthusiastic Engineer I to join the team responsible for integrations across our Finance (ERP) and People (HCM) systems. This is an early‑career role for someone ready to operate independently with guidance – owning the day‑to‑day reliability of integrations rather than only handling basic break‑fix work. You'll partner closely with our Finance, People, and global Corporate Technology teams to keep critical data flowing accurately between Workday, our ERP, and the wider Checkout.com tech stack, supporting processes that power payroll, hiring, vendor management, and financial reporting.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Build, maintain, and enhance integrations between our Finance (ERP) and People (HCM) systems, including Workday, and the broader Checkout.com tech stack.
- Independently triage, diagnose, and resolve integration failures and data discrepancies within SLA, escalating when issues exceed defined complexity thresholds.
- Develop and support Workday integrations using EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS, and Workday Studio.
- Partner with Finance and People stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable, well‑documented integrations.
- Support the data flows behind critical processes including Joiner/Mover/Leaver, payroll, vendor master, AP, and GL postings.
- Monitor integration health, build alerting for failures, and proactively address recurring issues before they impact stakeholders.
- Contribute to Workday and ERP release cycles through impact analysis, regression testing, and change management.
- Author clear technical documentation, integration runbooks, and knowledge base entries to support the team and downstream users.
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated experience building or supporting integrations between ERP and HCM platforms in a fast‑paced corporate environment, with a track record of acting with urgency and ownership.
- Hands‑on experience with Workday integration tooling (EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS, Studio, Orchestrate), or strong adjacent experience with a clear path to picking it up quickly.
- Working knowledge of integration patterns and technologies: REST, SOAP APIs, SFTP, XML, XSLT, JSON, and middleware platforms (e.g., Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi).
- Tooling awareness: Familiarity with market‑leading Finance and People systems such as Workday, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Coupa.
- Solid SQL skills and comfort working with data mappings, transformations, and reconciliations.
- Creative problem‑solving skills with a strong customer‑service mindset, a positive can‑do attitude, and a willingness to learn and develop.
- Capable of researching independently to find solutions to various integration issues.
- Basic awareness of SOX, audit, and data privacy considerations in financial and HR systems is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English, with the ability to coordinate seamlessly with Finance, People, and global technology teams.
