Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and conduct investigations on suspected merchants using multiple internal & external data sources.
- Perform in‑depth investigations of merchant setups, including periodic reviews of portfolio, to identify non‑compliance with scheme regulations.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to resolve issues related to non‑compliance with the card scheme rules.
- Provide timely responses to all internal & external queries / requests through Checkout.com’s ticketing system.
- Follow up on pending scheme compliance issues and investigate new and ongoing scheme compliance cases.
- Generate detailed investigation reports, highlighting risks, impacts & proposed solutions.
- Implement new processes/controls to ensure compliance with scheme regulations.
- Read changes/amendments to scheme rules & regulations and suggest updates to internal policy/processes in a timely manner.
- Participate in audits of internal processes, identify gaps and assist in smooth implementation of proposed amendments.
- Maintain in‑depth working knowledge of card scheme rules.
- Conduct training sessions for teams and share knowledge on overall scheme compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in e‑commerce payments, fintech or banking/financial services risk/compliance.
- Good understanding of the payment landscape in Europe.
- Solution‑driven approach, exemplary problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analysis and recommendations succinctly.
- Willingness to learn and understand complex payment terminology and stay abreast of new payment trends.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Ability to communicate in other languages is a plus.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and analytic tools is a plus.
