As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a proactive and experienced SHE Advisor to support and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.

As our SHE Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation while supporting operational teams across multiple sites and projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting Heads of Service, Contracts Managers & Supervisors
  • Continuous Personal Development
  • Driving solutions and improvements to our Health and Safety processes and procedures through the SHE sections of the Checkmate Way
  • Increase business culture by leading on SHE initiatives
  • Improving Health and Safety paperwork
  • CDM advice and compliance
  • Influencing SHE KPIs for Group & Divisions
  • Assessing members of the Operational teams training and qualification needs
  • Internal SHE Training
  • Conducting site audits & office inspections and managing the closeouts of the actions.
  • Attending monthly meetings and pre-start meetings
  • Developing and delivering toolbox talks to support onsite operations
  • Providing SHE advice, mentoring and coaching to the Operational team
  • Carrying out accident and incident investigations and producing a report with root cause analysis
  • Monthly SHE reporting to the Head of SHEQ

About You

  • Support the development of onsite documentation
  • Carrying out incident investigations
  • Training, coaching and mentoring operational teams
  • SHE process and procedure
  • SHE legislation
  • Audit experience
  • Asbestos
  • Previously worked in construction
  • Knowledge and understanding of 45001, 9001 & 14001 – Desirable

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Construction
  • NEBOSH Environmental or equivalent
  • CSCS Card – Desirable
  • PTLLS – Desirable
  • Full UK Driving Licence
