The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and competent Technical Services Engineer to join our established engineering team, providing field support across our existing and growing customer base.
Working independently and as part of a wider team, you’ll carry out reactive and planned maintenance, small installations, commissioning and site surveys across a range of life safety and security systems.
- What You’ll Be Doing
- Installing, maintaining, testing and repairing fire and security systems.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, commissioning and small installation works.
- Completing site surveys and identifying technical requirements.
- Working across systems including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers.
- Diagnosing faults and providing effective technical solutions.
- Maintaining accurate service records, PDA reports and compliance documentation.
- Building strong relationships with customers and providing a professional, high-quality service.
- Working closely with the office and wider engineering team to ensure issues are resolved effectively.
- Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring calibration requirements are met.
- Identifying opportunities for additional work and supporting the wider sales team where appropriate.
- Participating in the emergency out-of-hours standby and call-out rota.
- What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working with active fire and intruder alarm systems is essential.
- Strong technical knowledge of life safety systems, electrical circuits and components.
- Experience in fault finding, diagnostics, maintenance and repair.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an established engineering team.
- Comfortable working in a range of environments, including at height, in confined spaces and with heavy equipment.
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Relevant industry qualifications such as ECS, IPAF or PASMA are desirable.
