Our client designs and manufactures products for industrial sectors, and their reputation depends on how well they look after customers once a product is in service. They are now looking for a Service and Warranty Manager to lead that function. It is a hands-on leadership role with real influence, where warranty is treated as a genuine contributor to the business rather than a cost to be managed.

Position Overview

You will take ownership of all service and warranty operations, leading a technical team that handles returned products, warranty claims and customer support. Working closely with Quality and Engineering, you will diagnose faults, find the root causes of recurring issues and make sure the lessons are fed back into the product. You will also deal directly with demanding, high-profile customers, so you will need a calm head and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the service and warranty team, ensuring returned products and warranty claims are handled efficiently and to a high standard
  • Oversee mechanical and electrical repair, refurbishment and fault diagnosis of returned items
  • Manage the booking and tracking of products using SAP and RMA processes
  • Work with Quality and Engineering to investigate recurring issues and implement corrective actions
  • Provide technical support to customers by email, phone and on-site visits where required
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement to maintain stock levels
  • Develop and maintain warranty policies and procedures
  • Keep accurate records of service activity and warranty claims
  • Prepare reports and analysis on service trends and warranty performance

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience in technical service or warranty management, ideally within manufacturing or engineering
  • A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience leading teams and working across functions
  • A customer-focused mindset with a real commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Confident handling customers at a senior level, including major OEMs
  • Comfortable being both a manager and a hands-on contributor
  • Willing to travel to customer sites when required

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Soldering skills and experience with fault-finding tools are advantageous

If you are a technically minded service or warranty professional ready to step into a leadership role where your work directly affects the business, we would like to hear from you. Apply today, or get in touch for a confidential conversation about the opportunity.

Additional Information

  • Salary: £37,000 - £42,000 depending on experience (those close but slightly outside this salary range are also encouraged to apply)
