Role: Production Planner

Location: Redditch

Salary Range: £40-45k + Benefits

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to step into a progressive Production Planner role with a clear pathway to becoming a Production Manager.

With a focus on leadership development, operational ownership, and continuous improvement, this position offers the chance to grow within a dynamic environment while playing a key role in driving the success of the production team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Sales Planning team and Production Manager to forecast and allocate resources required to meet sales demands.
  • Develop and issue work orders to all relevant departments, ensuring production schedules align with customer requirements.
  • Create and distribute work orders and supporting documentation to facilitate production in line with sales forecasts.
  • Allocate stock to work orders; identify and communicate potential issues to support teams, and work together to provide solutions when challenges arise.
  • Continuously monitor the production plan, identify underproduction or overproduction risks, and propose actionable solutions to maintain efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the production planning process to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the transition and implementation of new systems or processes, ensuring planning workflows are well-defined and ready prior to system go-live.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially MS Excel.
  • Experience working within an ISO9001:2015-certified environment or a general understanding of ISO regulated environments.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to various levels within the organisation.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is desirable.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to systematically address issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to maintain accuracy and focus while working to tight deadlines.
