We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a small but growing maintenance team at a well-established components manufacturing business. The company produces high-quality components primarily for the defence and advanced engineering sectors, and this role plays a vital part in keeping production running smoothly. This is a five-day, days-based role, making it ideal for an engineer currently working shifts who is looking for a better work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
- Perform both mechanical and electrical fault-finding and repairs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase machine reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Work closely with production teams to support overall factory performance.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
What We're Looking For
- A time-served engineer or hold a relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience working with CNC machinery, presses, or other production equipment is desirable.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A full understanding of safe systems of work, including isolation procedures (LOTO).
