We are hiring a Marketplace Optimisation Lead to join the Matching team, reporting into the Marketplace Analytics Manager. Matching is the function responsible for how we connect consumers with the right tradespeople. It covers the search experience, offer logic, and the rules that determine visibility and prioritisation. The team is evolving from a lead-based model toward a more integrated, intelligent marketplace. You’ll be central to that transition.

You’ll work closely with product managers and engineers to design experiments, evaluate impact, and shape how users and trades interact with our platform. From AI-powered search to instant bookings, this is about rethinking Matching at its core - not just making marginal gains. Key outcomes include improving relevance of search results, job completion rate, and fairness of exposure for trades.

Location - Kings Cross, 4 days per week.

Where do you fit in?

  • Design, execute, and analyse experiments to improve Matching outcomes, with a focus on search and offer logic.
  • Deep dive into complex behavioural data to generate actionable insights and shape product direction.
  • Break down ambiguous, multi-sided problems into clear hypotheses and testable changes.
  • Balance the needs of consumers, trades, and the business, navigating trade-offs to improve marketplace-wide KPIs.
  • Support the development and rollout of new Matching features, including AI-driven functionality and instant bookings.
  • Build and maintain frameworks for evaluating Matching performance and guiding prioritisation.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 4+ years in analytics, experimentation, or optimisation roles within digital product, marketplace, or e-commerce environments.
  • Strong understanding of A/B testing and experimentation methods.
  • Highly proficient in SQL, with experience working across large behavioural datasets.
  • Skilled in problem decomposition, critical thinking, and navigating competing priorities.
  • Confident working in cross-functional teams alongside engineers and product managers.
  • Knowledge of search relevance, ranking systems, or marketplace mechanics is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Python, R or similar is useful but not essential.

This is a high-impact opportunity to help shape how consumers and tradespeople connect. You’ll work on one of the most strategically important areas of our product, bringing curiosity, rigour, and structure to improve the Matching experience through experimentation and data.
