As our next Senior Salesforce Engineer, you'll be a key architect and developer driving how Salesforce fits into Checkatrade's wider enterprise ecosystem. You'll own the full development lifecycle across Sales and Service Clouds, building robust, scalable solutions and connecting Salesforce to our core services through smart, event-driven integrations. This is a role for a modern engineer who embraces AI-assisted development and holds the bar high on code quality.

Here’s what you’ll actually spend your time on:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Apex, LWC, and Flow solutions across Sales and Service Cloud, building for scale and long-term maintainability.
  • Leverage AI coding tools to accelerate development velocity while upholding rigorous engineering standards, setting the bar for how AI-assisted delivery is done at Checkatrade.
  • Architect and implement secure integration patterns, including REST APIs and platform event-driven workflows, connecting Salesforce seamlessly to our wider core services.
  • Work closely with distributed engineering and data teams to ensure unified data flow and cohesive architecture across Salesforce and non-Salesforce services.
  • Own and optimise the Salesforce CI/CD deployment pipeline, ensuring smooth, automated, and reliable releases to production.
  • Champion code quality through thorough code reviews and comprehensive unit tests, helping upskill the wider team on modern AI-assisted engineering practices.

You’ll do well here if you bring:

  • Demonstrable Salesforce development experience, with deep knowledge of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud architectures.
  • A proven track record of writing clean, optimised Apex (triggers, batch, queueable), responsive LWC components, and complex Flows.
  • A solid understanding of AI-driven coding methodologies: how to give models the right architectural context, schemas, and constraints to generate accurate, production-ready code.
  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise integration patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices within the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Experience with Zuora, GitHub Actions, SFDX, or Salesforce PD2 certification is a real plus.

We believe great work deserves great rewards. Here’s just a taste:

  • Competitive salary + annual bonus
  • Employee Share Programme
  • Health, well-being and learning support
  • Gym membership, Smart Tech Scheme and Cycle Scheme
  • Birthday/Special day leave
  • Buy & sell holiday scheme
  • 1 week’s paid charity leave and much more!

How we’ll get to know each other:

  • Screening call with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners
  • 1st stage interview with Senior Engineering Manager
  • 2nd Stage interview with Staff Engineer & Senior Engineering Manager
  • Final stage interview with Product Manager, Agent Operations
