Join us as an Operations Associate at Checkatrade Express. Want to do work that really matters? At Checkatrade, we’re building the UK’s go-to home improvement marketplace. Every day, we help millions of homeowners find the right tradesperson for the job, fast, fair, and without the faff.

What is Checkatrade Express? An alternative experience to the ordinary Checkatrade website. It has a simplified booking journey for customers, with a focus on quick, everyday jobs in the home. Prices are fixed and upfront, payment is made with us directly on the platform, and the customer does not select their trade - we handle that for them. We built the platform in mid-2025, and brought it to market in Q4 of that year. We have since grown extremely quickly, expanded nationwide, and offer 100+ services to thousands of customers. The product is still very early in its journey. It is run by a small, ambitious, entrepreneurial team with aggressive targets to hit.

We are looking for an Operations Associate to join us on our mission to build the UK’s best home services marketplace. Forget long lists, here’s what you’ll actually spend your time on:

  • Building supply health and acquisition frameworks from the ground up to ensure our trade network keeps up with skyrocketing demand.
  • Rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into a wide variety of challenges in a scrappy team where no two days are the same.
  • Sitting at the centre of strategy, product, and data to shape new ideas, drive launches, solve meaningful problems, and push projects over the line.
  • Working side-by-side with product managers, engineers, and operators to turn concepts into live products that make a real impact.

It’s not about ticking every box. It’s about turning up curious, ready to crack on. You’ll do well here if you bring:

  • Recent graduate or early-career professional preferably with experience in consulting, tech, or startups (not essential).
  • Exceptional critical thinking and a love for tackling complex challenges with smart, well-reasoned solutions.
  • Comfort working with data (Excel required, BI tools a bonus) to ask smart questions and spot patterns that help the team focus on what matters.
  • An AI-powered mindset, using automation and AI agents to scale your personal output and multiply your impact.
  • Clear communication skills and an eagerness to learn and adapt in a highly-dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities shift rapidly.

We believe great work deserves great rewards. Here’s just a taste:

  • Competitive salary + annual bonus or commission (role dependent).
  • Employee Share Program.
  • Health, well-being and learning support (including access to leadership programmes and mentorship).
  • Gym membership, Smart Tech Scheme and Cycle Scheme.
  • Birthday/Special day leave.
  • Buy & sell holiday scheme.
  • 1 week’s paid charity leave and much more!

How we’ll get to know each other:

  • Screening call with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners.
  • 1st stage interview with e.g. General Manager, Express.
  • 2nd Stage case study, panel interview.
  • 3rd Stage cross functional interview.

If you require any reasonable adjustments during our interview process, please discuss them with your Talent Acquisition Partner. If this sounds like the place where you can do your best work, we’d love to hear from you, even if you don’t tick every box.

About us: We’re Checkatrade – the UK’s leading platform for finding a tradesperson. With more than 50,000 trades listed and over 6 million reviews, we help homeowners get jobs done right and help tradespeople grow their business.
