As our Director of Trade Growth, you'll own the strategy that takes trades from first touch to loyal paying customers. You'll redesign our entire growth funnel, bringing together Product, Marketing, Sales, Data and CRM to build a revenue engine that scales.
Here's what you'll actually spend your time on:
- Redesigning our entire growth engine. You'll own the journey from acquisition through activation, conversion, retention and expansion, building a growth strategy that creates predictable revenue rather than relying on one-off wins.
- Turning free users into loyal paying customers. We already have the audience. Your challenge is understanding where friction exists, removing it, and creating experiences that naturally convert users into long-term members.
- Building a culture obsessed with experimentation. You'll launch experiments across onboarding, pricing, lifecycle, CRM, in-product experiences and commercial offers. Test, learn, iterate, repeat.
- Working across the business to unlock growth. This isn't a siloed marketing role. You'll partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, Data and Customer teams to align priorities, influence roadmaps and move quickly on the biggest opportunities.
- Using AI and automation to create leverage. Whether it's smarter segmentation, automated lifecycle journeys, faster experimentation or entirely new ways of working, you'll use AI as a genuine growth multiplier.
- Owning the numbers that matter. Activation. Conversion. Upgrade rate. Retention. ARPU. LTV:CAC. You'll know exactly which levers move the business, and you'll build the reporting and operating rhythms to keep everyone focused on them.
- Creating entirely new ways for Checkatrade to grow. The best ideas won't already exist. You'll identify new acquisition channels, monetisation opportunities and product-led growth motions that shape the next phase of the business.
It's not about ticking every box. It's about turning up curious, commercial and ready to build. You'll do well here if you bring:
- Experience leading growth across SaaS, marketplaces, PLG or SMB businesses, with a track record of scaling acquisition, activation and monetisation.
- A deep understanding of growth funnels and commercial metrics. You know your way around activation, retention, LTV:CAC, segmentation and monetisation, and can turn data into action.
- A product mindset. You naturally think beyond marketing campaigns, understanding how product, CRM, pricing and customer experience all combine to drive growth.
- Strong experimentation instincts. You're comfortable running rapid tests, proving (or disproving) ideas quickly and building systems that compound over time.
- Confidence working with AI, automation and modern growth tooling. You're already using AI to improve workflows, speed up execution and uncover opportunities others miss.
- Exceptional stakeholder management. You can bring Product, Sales, Marketing, Data and Leadership together around a shared outcome, even when priorities differ.
- A bias for action. You don't wait for perfect information. You simplify complexity, make smart decisions and keep momentum high.
