An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optical Assistant to join us. As an Optical Assistant, the successful candidate will independently run your own clinics by performing diagnostic tests on the patients, providing high quality, easily accessible ophthalmology care in the area.
Our diagnostic tests include:
- 2D and 3D scans of the back of the eye
- Taking measurements of the eye pressure
- Checking patients' peripheral visions
- Checking their visions on the reading charts
The successful candidate will have full training with our clinical team on all aspects of the role. Once trained you will be able to:
- Independently run pre- and post-operative diagnostic clinics
- Support patients throughout their journey with CHEC and report any concerns
- Prepare all areas, and documents prior to your clinics
- Pre-examination diagnostics, such as Intraocular pressures, OCT scans and visual acuities
- Instilling Eyedrops
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Temperature testing
- Blood glucose Monitoring
- Support hospital diagnostic clinics as and when required
