In this role, you will be trusted to keep our kitchen running safely and smoothly, ensuring patients receive nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment. You will work closely with cooks and other colleagues to support daily food preparation and maintain high hygiene standards. Your work will help create a safe space for patients and staff, supporting their wellbeing through reliable, well-organised meal services. You will be part of a friendly team where good communication and teamwork are central to how we work.
What you’ll do:
- Support the cook with basic meal preparation and safe food service.
- Keep kitchen areas clean, tidy and well organised in line with food safety rules.
- Wash dishes, manage cleaning duties and complete cleaning records.
- Help with menu orders, meal trolleys and stocking beverage bays.
- Use kitchen equipment safely and report any issues straight away.
Qualifications:
- Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 (or equivalent).
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to organise your work and manage busy periods.
- A flexible, supportive approach to working in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in kitchens or hospitality, or transferable skills.
