The Finance Manager at Chayn will ensure the organisation's day to day finance function is managed to a high standard, financial records are thorough and up to date and financial controls are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all budget management.
- Budget reconciliation.
- Cashflow Management.
- Raising invoices.
- Overseeing weekly payment runs.
- Overseeing payroll using a global payroll management system.
- Managing charity banking across multiple accounts.
- Maintaining effective financial controls as directed by the Board of Trustees and Head of Finance and Operations.
- Assisting with financial forecasts, grant and partnership budget proposals and reports.
- Relationship management and support of external bookkeepers and accountants.
- Respond to any external requests for financial information.
- Gift Aid returns and monthly accruals.
- Provide coordination, note-taking and prepare updates for Board and Management on Board meetings.
Longer term, the successful candidate will assist the Director of Operations to:
- Submit quarterly finance reports to the Board of Trustees.
- Implement new finance management software.
- Implement an efficient grants management system.
- Run an organised governance tracking and Board activities calendar.
- Develop and implement a strategy to streamline and strengthen the financial management across the organisation.
Skills and Knowledge:
We want to work with a creative and passionate expert who has a track record within the sector.
Essential:
- At least 5 years experience of finance management, with at least 2 years in a non-profit organisation.
- A recognised accountancy qualification and member of professional body.
- Experience of developing and implementing HR procedures to a high standard, with a focus on DEI.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Experience of responding to changing organisational needs.
- Proactive and organised: capable of planning and managing your own workload particularly when at distance from the rest of the team.
- An assertive communicator: capable of articulating what you need to deliver your work to an excellent standard in both verbal and written form.
- An affinity with the aims and operational model of Chayn.
- Comfortable with a collaborative working style.
- Resident of the UK.
Desirable:
- Experience of managing income and expenditure in multiple currencies.
- Familiarity with VAT Management.
- Experience of working remotely or from home.
- Passion for digital technology and fighting gender-based violence.
It’s important that all team members have an understanding of intersectionality and systems of oppression and an affinity with Chayn’s aims and organisational values.
