Responsibilities:
- Provide shift supervision for the Front Desk Team, ensuring premier hospitality and resolution of guest issues.
- Act as a leader, providing daily direction and training opportunities for the Team.
- Serve as the point of contact to address guest requests and concerns immediately and professionally.
- Perform routine Front Desk Attendant tasks, including checking guests in and out.
- Serve as an information center by demonstrating knowledge of Chautauqua Institution and Athenaeum Hotel amenities, schedules, programming, and pricing.
- Operate the POS system to process payments, verify credit, post and remove credit/check balances, and provide receipts and change.
- Maintain accurate sales transaction records and refunds in accordance with resort and department policies; monitor cash drawer and sign off on closings.
- Ensure hotel equipment (printers, copiers, POS) is maintained and secured.
- Maintain knowledge of policies on payment, exchanges, and security practices.
- Communicate with management and other departments regarding guest room status, requests, and maintenance issues.
- Provide a safe, secure environment for guests and associates following key-control procedures.
- Use proper telephone etiquette to answer, hold, transfer calls, take complete messages, and make reservations.
- Keep workstation clean and perform light housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
- Seasonal employment during summer operations (June–August), with the possibility of pre‑season or post‑season part‑time work (mid‑April to late‑October).
- Schedules typically include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Expected hours: 30–40 hours per week, eight‑hour shifts beginning at 3:00 p.m.
