This role sits within the Data Product Team and is responsible for ensuring effective programme delivery across Chaucer’s BAU and small change data initiatives. The Data Service Delivery Manager will work closely with the Head of Data Product and Business Data Analysts to prioritise and manage incoming requests and small change projects, ensuring they are appropriately scoped, resourced, and delivered.
The role will collaborate with the Managed Service Lead to oversee execution and ensure that data service delivery meets agreed quality standards and timelines. It will also serve as a key partner to Finance, supporting the BAU delivery of Phinsys and facilitating regular forums between Finance, Phinsys, and the Data Warehouse delivery teams to ensure alignment and responsiveness to business needs. Additionally, the role will work closely with Change and Transformation teams to proactively manage cross-platform dependencies, risks, and issues—ensuring these are identified early and mitigated effectively to support seamless delivery across programmes.
The role is pivotal in aligning BAU and small change activities to business priorities and driving efficient, transparent, and value-driven delivery across the data landscape.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of BAU and small change data initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategic objectives.
- Support the Head of Data Product to manage the intake, triage, and prioritisation of new data requests in collaboration with Business Data Analysts.
- Maintain visibility of delivery pipelines, timelines, and resource allocation across internal and managed service teams.
- Work with the Data Technical Delivery Manager to ensure technical feasibility and delivery quality.
- Collaborate with Change and Transformation teams to manage dependencies across platforms and programmes.
- Support the integration of data services into broader change initiatives and transformation programmes.
- Manage the intake, triage, and prioritisation of new data requests in collaboration with Business Data Analysts.
- Work with the Data Product Team and business stakeholders to refine requirements and maintain a transparent prioritisation framework.
- Ensure delivery processes are documented, repeatable, and continuously improved.
- Monitor service performance against KPIs and SLAs, and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Contribute to the development of service design and operating models for data delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Finance BAU data service delivery needs, including Phinsys and Data Warehouse (DWH) delivery.
- Facilitate regular forums between Phinsys, Finance, and DWH delivery teams.
- Ensure finance-related requests are prioritised and delivered in line with transformation goals.
- Support the Finance Transformation programme by aligning BAU delivery with strategic objectives.
- Engage regularly with business stakeholders to review priorities, gather feedback, and communicate delivery progress.
- Facilitate workshops and planning sessions to ensure alignment and shared understanding of BAU objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, helping them navigate data capabilities and constraints.
- Ensure BAU requests comply with data governance, quality, and security standards.
- Collaborate with the Managed Service Lead to monitor performance against SLAs and KPIs.
- Participate in service reviews and retrospectives to identify and implement improvements.
- Proven experience in data service delivery, programme management, or operations within a data or analytics function.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and service management frameworks.
- Understanding of data platforms, data governance, and business intelligence tools.
- Experience working with managed service providers and cross-functional delivery teams.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline desirable.
- Professional certifications in Agile delivery (e.g. Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, PMI-ACP) or data-related disciplines (e.g. DAMA, CDMP) desirable.
- Industry certifications in insurance domain desirable.
