The Data Science Lead is a hands-on, individual contributor responsible for building and growing Chaucer’s data science capability within the central Data Office. The role blends strategic leadership with technical delivery, laying the foundations for Chaucer’s Data Science & AI Centre for Enablement.
The role’s purpose is to accelerate Chaucer’s ability to use advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI to drive business growth, efficiency, and risk management, ensuring Chaucer becomes an increasingly data-driven organisation. You’ll develop advanced analytics and AI solutions, explore emerging technologies such as Agentic AI and Snowflake Cortex, and identify high-value AI use cases that deliver real impact.
This is a hands-on role, involving coding, model development, and solution delivery, while shaping the roadmap for future growth. You’ll also provide guidance and mentorship as the capability evolves. Initially an individual contributor position, this role has the potential to grow into a leadership role as the function expands.
