This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced bordereaux professional to join Chaucer’s Delegated Authority team as a Bordereaux Technical Analyst. The role requires strong existing knowledge of premium, risk and claims bordereaux, with responsibility for reviewing, validating and investigating bordereaux data to ensure it is accurate, complete and fit for operational, regulatory and reporting purposes.

Alongside the core bordereaux focus, the role will provide the opportunity to broaden experience across the wider Delegated Authority function, gaining greater exposure to areas such as delegated authority oversight, Coverholder audit, controls and governance. This provides an opportunity for someone with established bordereaux expertise to broaden their DA knowledge and understanding while continuing to build on their existing technical specialism.

Working closely with colleagues across Delegated Authority, the wider business and external service providers, the role will use bordereaux expertise to investigate and resolve data issues, support effective bordereaux processing and drive improvements in data quality across Chaucer’s delegated authority portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and validate premium, risk and claims bordereaux, identifying data quality issues, inconsistencies and missing information.
  • Investigate bordereaux exceptions and work with internal stakeholders and outsourced service providers to support resolution.
  • Understand and assess bordereaux data against expected formats, fields, mappings and reporting requirements.
  • Support the resolution of data quality issues affecting the successful processing and use of bordereaux data.
  • Analyse recurring bordereaux issues to identify root causes and opportunities to improve data quality at source.
  • Support bordereaux mapping, validation and processing activities, including investigation of data that cannot be processed successfully.
  • Monitor bordereaux quality and exceptions, escalating material or recurring issues where appropriate.
  • Support controls and reconciliations relating to bordereaux completeness, accuracy and processing.
  • Produce and maintain bordereaux MI to support operational oversight and management reporting.
  • Support process documentation, controls and data-quality records and contribute to continuous improvement of Bordereaux Services.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience working with premium and risk bordereaux.
  • Understanding of bordereaux structures, data fields and common bordereaux data-quality issues.
  • Experience investigating and resolving bordereaux validation, mapping or processing issues.
  • Experience within a Lloyd’s/London Market delegated authority environment.
  • Understanding of how bordereaux data supports downstream reporting and operational processes.
  • Ability to identify anomalies, missing information, inconsistencies and data-quality issues within bordereaux.
  • Microsoft Excel skills for reviewing, reconciling and analysing bordereaux data.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate data issues clearly to business stakeholders and service providers.
  • Ability to manage workload and take ownership of issues through to resolution.

Desirable

  • Experience using Watertrace, DQPro or comparable bordereaux management/data-quality platforms.
  • Understanding of delegated authority controls and reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with outsourced bordereaux/service providers.
  • Exposure to bordereaux mapping, ingestion and validation processes.
  • Experience supporting process and control improvements.
