Play a key role in the Delegated Authority Centre of Excellence (DA CoE) team, bringing together the Group's DA portfolio. The position involves overseeing and supporting all delegated authority relationships, including MGAs, binders, lineslips and consortiums. Activities include performance reviews, oversight of new and renewal business, driving the DA strategy forward, and working closely with the DA Oversight team on compliance, administration, operations and governance. The role will also involve membership on the DA Underwriting Committee and ownership of the DA "virtual" P&L.

Main Duties

  • Design, build and implement the underwriting focused DA framework across the Group, including cross‐selling products via MGAs.
  • Support the onboarding of DA business, working with underwriters and the DA Oversight team.
  • Shape the Group's DA strategy and embed it across all lines of business.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor best practice in DA underwriting and collaborate with the DA Oversight team on non‐underwriting matters, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Support the Group's data, MI and analysis ambitions.
  • Design and implement DA MI and reports for relevant Group and entity committees, and for use by the DA CoE, underwriters and senior management.
  • Implement DA "virtual" P&Ls at Group, entity and divisional levels, taking responsibility for each.
  • Coordinate and oversee the mid‐year assessment of MGAs and other DA placement methods, focusing on performance and compliance.
  • Lead the DA Underwriting Committee (DAUC) and the DA Underwriting Working Group, establishing clear aims and robust review processes.
  • Manage or assist with ad hoc projects related to delegated authorities.
  • Attend broker and client meetings, building rapport with brokers and MGAs, and present to stakeholders.
  • Work with the Pricing team to improve the Group's MGA pricing and rate change position.
  • Collaborate with the Exposure Management team to enhance aggregate management and monitoring.
  • Help build business cases for writing new lines of business via MGAs and obtain coverholder approvals.
  • Work with the Head of DA Oversight and their team to enhance oversight and controls framework.
  • Serve as a conduit between the DAUC and underwriters, utilising the Monthly DA Underwriters Meeting.
  • Conduct market analysis related to DA business and best practices.
  • Communicate the DA strategy, underwriting stance and proposed improvements.
  • Support the Innovation team on new and existing MGAs.
  • Support and influence the DA training program.
  • Support the Active Underwriters of 1084 and 1176 in all DA Lloyd's/PBO matters and facilitate discussions with the Head of Underwriting at CIC regarding Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) matters.

Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures and provide good customer outcomes and fair treatment of customers.
  • Adhere to Lloyd's Byelaws and Minimum Standards, FCA and PRA requirements, and Central Bank of Ireland regulations.
  • Manage customer complaints appropriately and conduct annual product reviews and fair value assessments for the Group.
  • Follow all product governance processes within the UCM and uphold the principles of good customer outcomes and fair treatment for Agents and Service Providers.

Relevant Experience

  • MGA and binder experience, ideally from a Syndicate, Managing Agent or Lloyd's of London background.
  • Knowledge of Lloyd's DA regulation relating to binders.
  • Insurance knowledge across multiple lines of business.
  • Strong presentation skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical and strategic mindset.
  • Experience with DCOM and ATLAS, though not essential.
