This is a senior technical position within the Exposure Management Team, working directly with the Head of Catastrophe Research, Head of Exposure Management, CUO, CRO and Head of RI Purchasing. The role mainly provides support for the more ad-hoc technical work that comes up in the Exposure Management team outside of standard modelling or Portfolio Analytics BAU.
Responsibilities- Provide support for non-traditional reinsurance structures (ILS), collaborating with the Outwards RI Purchasing team to deliver Exposure Management analysis for unusual products purchased to protect the Chaucer portfolio as part of the intelligent capital strategy.
- Explain complex technical work to both technical and non-technical internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical support for modelling produced for standard Outwards RI purchases.
- Apply a strong statistical background and knowledge of SQL, Power BI, VBA, R/Python, while maintaining good commercial understanding.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of different reinsurance structures, especially non-traditional ILS, and a detailed understanding of simulation financial models, which constitute the main focus of the role.
- Participate in projects to improve and refine overall processes through automation, ensuring suitable controls and quality control.
- Collaborate with senior managers within Exposure Management to develop alternative tools or analytics to support the business and Portfolio Manager as required.
