To provide support to the Actuarial pricing team, including strategic projects, model and MI/analytics development and other key pricing plan deliveries, Pricing Transformation workstream, testing new pricing models, data development and ongoing support to existing models. The role involves close collaboration with BI developers, pricing software (RuleBook) configurators, underwriting teams across the business, and divisional actuaries. The successful applicant will have strong technical data development skills and the ability to translate business requirements into developer requests. The role also requires project management and communication skills, providing effective support across multiple workstreams. No prior actuarial experience is required. The role is located within the Actuarial pricing team in London.
Main duties
- Pricing Technology
- Support pricing model transformation from Excel to RuleBook, a cloud‑based pricing platform: oversee developers, clarify model functionality, carry out end‑to‑end user testing, gather feedback from underwriters & pricing actuaries, and embed usage as part of the platform roll‑out.
- Provide underwriters with ad‑hoc technical support for RuleBook, triage issues and allocate them to the correct teams for resolution.
- Assist with rule‑book development work – although RuleBook expertise is not required, the focus is technology agnostic and may expand to other pricing technologies.
- Data Pipelines
- Assist with production and testing of relevant pricing data extracts and pipelines.
- Perform data manipulation tasks: generate data dictionaries, produce real‑time data extracts using PowerPivot, and scrape historical data from pricing models for migration into RuleBook and for Insight dashboard exhibits.
- Take ownership of scraping data from historical pricing models, validate the data, prepare for underwriter sign‑off, and transform it into the appropriate structure for ingestion into the relevant databases.
- Analytics
- Build Pricing Insights dashboards in Excel and visualisation tools (e.g., PowerBI) to visualise real‑time pricing data.
- Ensure data used for data models & Insight dashboards reconciles with relevant sources for accuracy and reliability, managing others' input and testing.
- Develop and support pricing and data‑management activities, working collaboratively with senior pricing actuaries.
