Global Veterinary Careers is delighted to be supporting a well‑established independent veterinary practice, with over 100 years of history, in the search for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon looking to work within an independent practice that genuinely values its team, encourages clinical development, and offers a varied caseload.
The role can be tailored to suit either a mixed practitioner (80% small animal, 10% equine, 10% farm) or a small animal‑only Veterinary Surgeon. Situated in the heart of North East England, the practice benefits from excellent transport links and easy access to vibrant cities, beautiful countryside, and stunning coastline.
The Role
- Full or part‑time opportunities available
- Mixed (80% small animal, 10% equine, 10% farm) or small animal‑only position
- Minimum of 2 full days per week for part‑time applicants
- One night on‑call per week with support from another Veterinary Surgeon
- 1 full on‑call weekend in every 6
- Receive a Friday or Monday off following your on‑call weekend to create a long weekend
- No weekday night on‑call the following week
- 1 Saturday morning in 3 (one forms part of the 1-in-6 weekend rota)
- Fairly shared bank holiday rota
- No sole charge on‑call duties
