Locum Vet β Charity Hospital | East Kent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy and rewarding charity-led small animal practice on the Kent Coast. This is an ongoing requirement while the team recruits permanently, offering a varied caseload, a supportive clinical environment, and the chance to make a genuine difference to animal welfare.
The Role
- ASAP start with an ongoing commitment whilst permanent recruitment is underway
- 5 days per week, 8:30am to 6:00pm
- No weekends, no on-call duties and no OOH requirements
- Work alongside one other Veterinary Surgeon, with only minimal sole charge at the beginning and end of the day
- Mix of consultations and surgery, with consults-only options also considered
- 15-minute consult slots for sick and injured patients, with 10-minute preventative care appointments
- Β£50 per day accommodation allowance available where required
The Practice
- Supported by a dedicated team of 6 Nurses and 6 Veterinary Care Assistants
- Busy charity environment offering a genuinely varied and interesting caseload
- Frequent surgical procedures including pyometras, foreign body removals and other rewarding soft tissue cases
- Opportunity to work with a wide range of patients requiring both routine and urgent care
- Collaborative and supportive team culture with strong nursing support throughout the day
