Experienced vet leader wanted for a well-equipped, busy first-opinion practice in a thriving market town (East Midlands). Mentor a stable team and drive clinical standards.

You’ll be the senior clinician on site, setting the tone for clinical quality, patient outcomes and client experience. This is a hands-on leadership role with scope to shape how the practice works day-to-day, supporting case management, clinical governance, coaching/mentoring, and confident decision-making on more complex medical/surgical cases.

  • Enjoy leading by example clinically, including confident routine surgery (and ideally more advanced soft-tissue surgery)
  • Have a track record of mentoring vets/nurses and building capability in others
  • Are comfortable handling clinical complaints professionally and improving standards through audits/QI
  • Bring calm, clear communication and a practical approach to team leadership

Working pattern:

  • Full-time 40 hours over 4 days (part-time considered)
  • Shared Saturday rota:(09:00–12:00) with time back in lieu
  • No out-of-hours / no on-call

The practice:

  • Friendly team with veterinary and nursing support
  • Modern, well-equipped clinical environment (imaging, ultrasound, monitoring; dentistry investment planned)

Package includes:

  • Salary up to £75,000 DOE
  • 6.6 weeks’ holiday including bank holidays
  • Private medical insurance
  • Funded learning & development (CPD support + internal academy/resources)
  • Professional fees/cover supported (RCVS/VDS/BVA)
