Experienced Veterinary Surgeon | Strong Surgical Caseload

GVC are assisting a busy small animal clinic in Leicestershire with the recruitment of an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team.

The practice is looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon who is comfortable managing routine medical and surgical cases. An interest in orthopaedics would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
The Role
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week on a rota basis, with no sole charge and no out-of-hours work.
You’ll be joining an established team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses and 2 Veterinary Care Assistants, working within a supportive environment where clinical development and teamwork are encouraged.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon confident with routine medical and surgical cases
- Enjoy working within a busy practice with a varied caseload
- Have an interest in developing their surgical or clinical skills
- Have an interest in orthopaedics, although this is not essential
- Be confident building strong relationships with clients, patients and colleagues
- Enjoy working as part of a supportive and collaborative team
About the Practice
The clinic is a modern, spacious small animal practice with a high and varied caseload and excellent facilities.
The practice is well equipped with:
- Digital X-ray
- In-house laboratory
- Ultrasound
- Multi-parameter monitoring
- Ultrasonic laser
- Suction equipment
- Exotic equipment and an exotic caseload
- Practice van for home visits
- Qualified physiotherapist supporting orthopaedic cases
There is also a soft tissue surgeon currently undertaking a Soft Tissue Certificate, providing a great opportunity for colleagues who are keen to develop their surgical skills.
The practice is conveniently located in the centre of Hinckley, with free on-site parking and the train station just a couple of minutes' walk away. There is easy access to the M1 and the practice is approximately 40 minutes from both East Midlands and Birmingham Airports.
The location also offers easy access to major Midlands cities, with Nottingham, Birmingham and other areas within straightforward travelling distance, while the Peak District is around an hour away.
