If you're an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to take the next step into a leadership role or an existing Clinical Director seeking a fresh challenge within an innovative independent practice this could be the perfect opportunity.

The Role

As Clinical Director, you'll have the autonomy to lead the clinical direction and overall performance of the practice, balancing exceptional patient care with team development and business growth.

  • You'll spend approximately
  • 80% of your time in clinical practice

, maintaining a hands-on role while mentoring and supporting your team to deliver the highest standards of veterinary medicine.

Working closely with the Practice Manager, Head Nurse and senior leadership team, you'll play a key role in establishing the clinic as one of Buckinghamshire's leading first-opinion practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing veterinary team.
  • Deliver exceptional clinical standards and champion evidence-based medicine.
  • Mentor and develop veterinary surgeons, nurses and support staff.
  • Oversee clinical governance, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support recruitment and help build an engaged, positive workplace culture.
  • Drive practice growth, client experience and membership development.
  • Manage budgets and understand key business performance indicators.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership while maintaining autonomy within the practice.
  • Promote wellbeing, inclusion and professional development throughout the team.

About You

We're looking for someone who is

  • MRCVS registered.
  • An experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with previous leadership or senior veterinary experience.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional clinical care.
  • A natural mentor who enjoys developing others.
  • Commercially aware and interested in helping grow a successful practice.
  • Positive, approachable and able to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
