Senior Veterinary SurgeonHospital Role | East London | Up to £80,000
GVC are assisting a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital in East London in the search for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to step into a Senior GP Vet position.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician with hospital experience who enjoys mentoring others, delivering exceptional client care, and helping to lead a large, collaborative veterinary team.
The Role
- Salary of £60,000–£80,000 DOE
- Full-time, averaging 40 hours per week
- 1 in 3 Saturdays and 1 in 6 Sundays
- Rotating through consulting, surgery, wards and ECC
- Up to 2 bank holidays per year
- Included in a last-resort on-call rota
- Senior clinical responsibilities alongside first opinion duties
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead by example, delivering outstanding clinical and client care
- Support and mentor junior vets and recent graduates as a Vet GDP Advisor
- Help maintain high clinical standards across the GP team
- Promote evidence-based medicine and continuous learning
- Lead monthly clinical journal clubs
- Work closely with the Head Vet and Hospital Manager to create a positive, supportive team culture
The Hospital
- Large multidisciplinary 24-hour hospital
- Approximately 25 Veterinary Surgeons, supported by experienced RVNs, SVNs, VCAs and dedicated client care teams
- Excellent caseload including first opinion, ECC and internal referrals
- Advanced facilities including:
- CT scanner
- In-house commercial laboratory
- Advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery
- Minimally invasive surgical equipment
- Strong medical and surgical specialist support
