Clinical Director in Brand-New Independent Clinic

Buckinghamshire

GVC are assisting a brand-new, modern independent veterinary clinic opening in Beaconsfield this December, and we’re looking for an experienced Clinical Director to help shape it from day one.

This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for a vet who wants more than just a clinical role. You’ll have the chance to build a team, shape the culture and help create an exceptional veterinary practice from the ground up, with every detail of the new clinic carefully considered.

You’ll lead a team of 3 Vets, a Head Nurse, dedicated Practice Manager and reception team, with strong support from the wider leadership team.

The role

As Clinical Director, you’ll be the clinical and cultural figurehead of the practice, leading by example while maintaining a strong clinical focus.
Around 80% of your time will be clinical, alongside responsibility for the development and performance of the team and clinic.

You’ll have autonomy to shape how the practice operates locally, whilst being supported by an experienced leadership team.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing the veterinary team, Head Nurse and Practice Manager
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of clinical care and governance
  • Supporting CPD, education, clinical audits and evidence-based medicine
  • Building a positive, supportive and inclusive team culture
  • Overseeing recruitment, HR, health & safety and client experience
  • Working alongside the leadership team on clinic strategy and growth
  • Understanding and influencing KPIs, budgets and financial performance
  • Helping build a loyal client base and exceptional customer experience
  • Acting as an advocate for the practice within the local community and veterinary profession

What makes this different?

This is a brand-new clinic, meaning you won’t be walking into an established way of doing things, you’ll have a genuine voice in shaping them.

The clinic has been designed with people, patients and exceptional care at the heart of it, with a huge amount of thought going into the environment, equipment, team structure and culture.

You’ll be joining an organisation that genuinely values wellbeing, respect, inclusion, openness and great leadership.

Working pattern & benefits

  • 5-day week initially, moving to a 4-day week once established
  • Share of weekends
  • 26+ days, plus your birthday off after one year
  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme
  • Highly skilled and supportive team
  • Dedicated Practice Manager and reception support
  • Excellent opportunities for CPD and professional development
  • Regular company social events
  • Opportunity to help shape a completely new practice and its culture from day one
  • Salary from £85,000-£100,000 (DOE)
