We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Independent Financial Adviser to join our Wealth Management Team, based at our Boston office. We are seeking a Trainee Independent Financial Adviser who will primarily advise on investments and pensions, with the opportunity to also provide equity release and protection advice. The successful candidate will demonstrate the drive and determination to qualify to Diploma level as quickly as possible (if not already qualified), with a desire to progress towards Chartered status. A genuine interest in financial services, excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high standards of client service are essential.

Hours: 9am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday
Salary: Depending on Experience
Key Responsibilities
- To provide an ongoing service to existing clients.
- To work under supervision initially to gain experience and develop competence in the role of an Independent Financial Adviser.
- To qualify to Diploma level (if not already qualified) and progress towards Chartered status.
- To work with Partners and Fee Earners to develop new financial services business and build a personal caseload over time.
- To assist in the preparation of client reviews, suitability reports and recommendations under supervision.
- To develop technical knowledge across investments, pensions, protection and equity release.
- To use the Firm’s case management systems effectively, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- To ensure all work complies with the Firm’s policies, FCA regulations and best practice.
- To be prepared to work anti-social hours when this is necessary to ensure client satisfaction.
- A full, current driving licence and use of your own vehicle (with appropriate business insurance) is essential, as travel to the Firm’s offices will be required.
Candidate Profile
- Good grades at GCSE and A Level.
- Driving Licence (and transport as some travel will be required to other offices and to see clients).
- High level of competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Degree level education with a 2.1 or above and a relevant financial, economics or law degree would be an advantage.
- Clear understanding of confidentiality/Data Protection.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on delivery capability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to quickly establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capability.
- Able to work with diplomacy and assertiveness.
- Discrete with the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
- Flexible and willing/able to travel to all offices.
