We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Legal Assistant to join our New Homes Purchase Team based in our Grantham office. We are seeking an individual who ideally holds secretarial qualifications, a degree in Law (desirable), or has equivalent relevant professional experience. Full training will be provided, but a genuine interest in the legal profession is essential.

Location: Grantham

Department: New Homes Purchase Team

Hours: 9am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday

Salary: £25,650

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all necessary typing/word-processing accurately and to deadline.
  • Undertake work across all areas of the company and provide cover to other Senior Legal Assistants as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Maintain high levels of client and company confidentiality.
  • Transcribe information from manual documents or audio.
  • Provide support to other offices where capacity allows as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Take telephone calls on behalf of the fee earners and convey messages in a timely manner.
  • Arrange appointments as required.
  • Keep work up‑to‑date adopting the oldest/most urgent first principle.
  • Ensure efficient information recorded on the appropriate file management system.
  • Create and maintain accurate records.
  • Be flexible and work as a team member.
  • Provide reception cover as and when required.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Experience:

  • High level of competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Desirable Experience:

  • Law Degree
  • Experience of working in a law firm.
  • Competent in using case management systems.
  • Clear understanding of confidentiality/Data Protection.
  • Typing speed of at least 50 WPM.
