We are looking for a talented Chef De Partie/Afternoon Tea Chef to join our friendly and dedicated catering team at Chatsworth, working within the Chatsworth House kitchen.

In this unique and creative role, you will assist with preparing a consistently high standard of food across the Carriage House Café, The Cavendish Restaurant, Chatsworth Kitchen and Wedding and Events, with a focus on afternoon teas. This is a hands-on, varied role where you will:

  • Collaborate closely with our senior chefs and bakery team to prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes - sweet and savoury - for our restaurants and café outlets.
  • Play an active role in developing new menu items, using the best of local and seasonal produce.
  • Work with senior chefs to ensure high food hygiene, safety, and kitchen standards.
  • Support the day-to-day running of a busy, multi-outlet kitchen.
  • Help monitor portion sizes, reduce food waste, and maintain consistently high standards.

This is a full-time, seasonal position based over 41 weeks per year, working up to 5 days a week mainly during the daytime.

You will bring:

  • A flair for presentation and passion for high-quality food using fresh ingredients.
  • A deep interest in seasonal and locally-sourced produce.
  • Creativity and confidence in developing new dishes and menus.
  • Proven experience as a section leader or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and food hygiene standards.
  • A true team player with a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to support junior chefs.

We care deeply about food, sustainability, and exceptional hospitality. You will be part of a close-knit kitchen team where creativity is encouraged, training is ongoing, and no two days are the same.

If you are passionate about food with a commitment to excellence, we would love to hear from you!

In return, as part of the wider Devonshire Group, owned by the Duke of Devonshire, which includes Chatsworth, Bolton Abbey, Lismore and the Devonshire Hotels & Restaurants Group, we pride ourselves on our commitment to building friendly and efficient teams who are focused on delivering exceptional customer service.

We are committed to ensuring the happiness and wellbeing of our staff and as such offer fantastic benefits including:

  • Free access to Chatsworth and Bolton Abbey Estates.
  • Excellent personal development and career opportunities.
  • Free entry to the Chatsworth fairs and many of the events.
  • Membership of the Life Assurance Scheme.

  • Uniform relevant to the role.
  • Employee assistance programmes.
  • Free on-site parking.
