Convening at Chatham House is our highest-profile activity and underpins our global reputation and influence. Our events programme includes public events with well-known speakers, panels, private roundtables and flagship conferences. Whether conducted publicly or under the Chatham House Rule, convening is central to how we advance ideas and influence.

We have an exciting opportunity for an early-career Events Assistant to join our Events Production team and support the delivery of Chatham House's programme of events. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build and deepen their professional experience within a policy and international affairs environment.

What you'll do:

  • Support the planning and coordination of diverse events across our annual programme.
  • Assist with event logistics including room setup, AV, catering, registration and speaker coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records across CRM and shared systems.
  • Provide on-the-day support and help resolve routine issues.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Events, Research, Facilities, Marketing and more.

What we're looking for:

  • Some experience supporting events in a professional, academic or customer-facing environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear communication and collaborative, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and willingness to learn.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office.

Benefits:

Benefits include approximately 37 days annual leave (including public holidays and Chatham House closure days), pension salary exchange, employee assistance programme, parental leave, flexible working and other benefits designed to suit your lifestyle. Salary: £30,000 per year.

Contract: Full-time, Permanent. This role is expected to start in April 2026.

Location: Hybrid – minimum three days per week in the office, with flexibility around event requirements.
