Do you have what it takes to be one of our next Apprentice HGV Technician’s? As an apprentice you will:
- Be enrolled on the award winning DAF apprentice programme
- Gain a Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Be employed full time by the award winning DAF Dealer for East Anglia
- Earn a competitive wage whilst gaining practical skills alongside the knowledge and experience needed to enter the automotive industry
- Receive a retention bonus after five years and ten years continuous service
- Participate in residential training at the DAF Apprentice College
You will be assisting in the repair of vehicles, service inspections and MOT preparations on primarily DAF trucks but on occasions other truck brands. On the job training will provide you with the necessary skills to complete fault finding, repairs of engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems etc. Completing paperwork such as job cards and service sheets, using our in-house DAF check electronic platform. The DAF apprentice programme gives you the chance to join the select group of specialist technicians working on some of the most modern, sophisticated trucks on the road.
Please note you will be required to complete a mechanical assessment and skill keys assessments before we can proceed to the interview stage.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00 (40 hours per week) with one hour for lunch. Saturday mornings on rota basis (once candidate is over 18 years old and suitably trained).
Qualifications and experience required: No skills are required as full training will be provided. A keen interest in the heavy vehicle industry would be an asset. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and not in full time education and have GCSE grades 4-9, (A-C or equivalent) in English and Maths.
