We are supporting a global biotechnology organisation specialising in rare autoimmune diseases as they continue to expand their UK team. The company is seeking a Medical Advisor to join the UK organisation during an important phase of growth. This is a key role within a small and highly collaborative UK team, where the successful candidate will contribute to medical strategy, stakeholder engagement and cross-functional planning within a rare neurological disease area.

The Role

The Medical Advisor will provide scientific expertise within the therapy area and work closely with colleagues across medical, marketing and market access to support the development and delivery of UK medical plans. Given the size of the UK team, this position offers significant visibility and the opportunity to contribute across multiple functions, playing an important role in shaping how medical activities are delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific and medical expertise within the relevant disease area
  • Support the development and implementation of UK medical plans
  • Engage with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders to gather clinical insights
  • Contribute to cross-functional planning alongside medical, marketing and market access colleagues
  • Support appropriate scientific exchange and educational initiatives
  • Attend relevant scientific meetings and congresses to gather insights and share learnings internally

Candidates should bring:

  • Experience working within Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • Strong scientific understanding and the ability to communicate complex data clearly
  • Experience engaging with healthcare professionals and clinical stakeholders
  • Understanding of the UK healthcare environment and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Experience in specialty care, rare disease, neurology or immunology would be beneficial but is not essential.
