They now seek a passionate and experienced National Sales Manager with Ophthalmology experience to join their growing team and prepare for an exciting new product launch in Wet AMD. The National Sales Manager (NSM) will lead and develop the UK retina sales function, driving commercial success for the organisation's ophthalmology portfolio, with a specific focus on wet AMD.
This firstâline leadership role is accountable for building and coaching a highâperforming Business Development Manager team and ensuring the effective delivery of national sales, market access, and growth objectives across both the NHS and private sectors.
As a key member of the UK leadership team, the NSM will also act as the commercial lead for the private sector, setting the strategic direction, fostering partnerships, and exemplifying strong, compliant, and inspirational leadership across the organisation.
Candidate background required:
- Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales leadership, ideally within retina or ophthalmology
- Experienced firstâline people manager with success in developing and leading highâperforming field teams
- Strong understanding of the UK ophthalmology ecosystem, including NHS and private sector dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results through strategic planning, customer engagement, and dataâdriven decisionâmaking
