Overview

Key Account Manager – Oncology – Scotland & NI

Our client is focused on the development and commercialization of novel oncology therapeutics. Their goal is to build a leading biopharmaceutical company focused on improving the lives of cancer patients by developing and commercializing novel first-in-class therapeutics.

The now seek a talented Key Account Manager who will be responsible for developing and executing business plans to drive sales and adoption of their oncology products within a designated territory. You will build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the NHS, ensuring compliance with the ABPI code of practice, and acting as a point of contact for their accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Achievement of sales growth and activity targets across a defined group of customers
  • Demonstrate a high level of selling skills to ensure medicines in the therapy area (particularly breast cancer) are prescribed in appropriate patients
  • Develop and implement own business plan that feeds into the local health economy account plans
  • Tailor multi-channel promotional activity according to the local Account Plans, which may mean different activity with different customers
  • Take personal accountability to understand local customers and their needs to develop and mobilise local external experts and build clinical advocacy within the secondary care setting as appropriate
  • Understand and input into local market access strategies, manage key customers and support project implementation as required within the local health economy account plans
  • Take personal accountability for therapy area understanding, including the disease, promoted medicines, competitors and campaign, as well as the local health economy environment to add value to customers and ensure all national campaigns are effectively implemented with local context

Capabilities & Experience

  • Expertise and demonstrated skills & experience in the pharmaceutical industry, in a field-based oncology sales role (ideally with breast cancer experience)
  • A strong understanding of oncology, particularly breast cancer, and the ability to quickly grasp new product information
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way
  • Ability to work as part of a territory team
  • Interpersonal, communication and influencing skills – both internal and external
  • Clear understanding of NHS structure, Hospitals, policies, drivers in line with their local health economy
  • Positive mindset with the ability to work in a complex and ever changing environment

The role requires highly skilled interpersonal and networking skills inside and outside of the company.
