Field Medical Advisor – Oncology / Haematology - UK National | Home-Based | No Final Signatory Requirement

We're recruiting for a confidential opportunity with a privately owned pharmaceutical company specialising in oncology and haematology, at a pivotal point in its UK development.

With a new brand launch planned for 2027, emerging clinical data for an existing medicine and ambitious plans for the year ahead, this is an exciting time to join the business.

Working closely with the UK Medical Director, you'll play a critical role in delivering these priorities, combining external scientific engagement with broader Medical Affairs responsibilities and the autonomy to lead projects from planning through to delivery.

The role

  • Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders across the UK.
  • Contribute to UK Medical Affairs plans and support scientific engagement around emerging clinical evidence.
  • Take ownership of projects including advisory boards, medical education, scientific meetings and congress activities.
  • Support Medical Affairs activities associated with an upcoming brand launch.
  • Collaborate with commercial and cross-functional colleagues, providing scientific expertise, education and constructive challenge.
  • Contribute to the scientific review of medical and promotional materials, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.

The UK Medical Director retains final signatory responsibility, so this role offers the breadth of Medical Affairs involvement without requiring you to be a final signatory.

About you

We're looking for a scientifically credible, proactive Medical Affairs professional who enjoys variety, takes ownership and works collaboratively.

You'll bring:

  • Experience as a Medical Advisor, MSL or Senior MSL within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong oncology or haematology expertise, with the ability to discuss complex clinical evidence and the science of malignant disease.
  • Experience developing relationships with clinicians and engaging in high-quality scientific exchange.
  • A good understanding of UK Medical Affairs practices and the ABPI Code.
  • Strong communication, organisation and project management skills, with the initiative to work independently.
  • Launch experience and involvement in broader Medical Affairs projects would be advantageous, but are not essential.
  • You do not need to be a doctor, pharmacist or qualified final signatory. Applications are welcomed from established Medical Advisors and experienced MSLs looking to broaden their responsibilities.
  • You'll be joining a commercially established international business that combines the flexibility of private ownership with an entrepreneurial, collaborative and patient-focused culture.
  • With significant activity planned across existing medicines and an upcoming launch, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to an important year of delivery, work closely with senior leadership and take genuine ownership of your work.
  • The company also has a strong commitment to internal development and progression.

Location and package

This is a national, home-based role open to candidates across the UK. Flexibility to travel for healthcare professional meetings, congresses and company events is essential.

A highly competitive basic salary, bonus and benefits package is offered.

Confidential recruitment process

This appointment is being managed confidentially. Company and product details will be shared with shortlisted candidates following completion of a confidentiality agreement, ahead of their first interview.
