We are recruiting for a leading commercial glazing contractor specialising in both new build and refurbishment projects across Derbyshire and the East & West Midlands who supply and install high-quality Architectural Aluminium glazing systems in a wide range of commercial projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the team.
Role Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing glazing projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role involves regular collaboration with clients, main contractors, design teams, suppliers, and installation crews, and requires strong technical knowledge of architectural glazing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full project lifecycle, from initial planning through to final handover, covering both interior and exterior glazing installations.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, risk assessments, and resource planning.
- Coordinate day-to-day project activities to ensure smooth workflow and efficient delivery.
- Review and analyse architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications to confirm feasibility and accuracy.
- Prepare and compile product specifications and technical submission documents for client and consultant approval.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations, building codes, and internal quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, and adherence to project specifications.
- Manage procurement activities, including ordering project-specific materials and coordinating with suppliers, manufacturers, and fabricators.
- Monitor material quality, delivery schedules, and stock levels to ensure timely installation.
- Liaise with installation teams to support accurate, efficient, and safe installation practices.
- Organise, oversee, and undertake complex or technical remedial works, repairs, or maintenance tasks as required.
- Diagnose issues relating to glazing systems and develop appropriate solutions.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in project management within the commercial glazing, construction, or façades industry.
- Strong technical understanding of Architectural Aluminium Glazing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of construction health & safety and regulatory requirements.
- Full UK driving licence (site travel required across Derbyshire and the Midlands).
