Installation Manager / Surveyor
Chase Taylor are working on behalf of a well-established home improvement company in Telford, who are looking to recruit an experienced Installation Manager / Surveyor to join their team.
This is a hands‑on role for someone with a strong background in the window, door or wider fenestration industry.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working out on site, overseeing installation teams, getting involved when required and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
The Role
You will be responsible for overseeing installation teams on customer sites, carrying out surveys and ensuring installations are progressing correctly and in line with company standards.
The role will suit someone who is practical and hands‑on, but also confident using IT systems and completing the necessary paperwork and reporting.
You will act as an important link between the installation teams, customers and the office, reporting back on progress, identifying issues and helping to find practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing installation teams on site and monitoring the quality of work.
- Carrying out surveys and ensuring jobs are ready for installation.
- Working alongside installers and getting hands‑on when required.
- Checking installations are completed correctly and to the required standards.
- Dealing with customers professionally and providing excellent customer service.
- Identifying and resolving installation issues and finding practical solutions.
- Reporting back to the office and management team on job progress and any issues.
- Completing paperwork, reports and relevant installation documentation.
- Using IT systems to update job information, records and reports.
- Liaising with installers, surveyors, customers and internal departments.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience within the window, door or fenestration industry.
- Strong practical and hands‑on installation knowledge.
- Experience overseeing installation teams or working in an installation management capacity.
- Surveying experience and good product knowledge.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving ability and a practical approach to resolving issues.
- Good IT skills and confidence using computerised systems.
- Ability to complete paperwork and maintain accurate job records.
- Full UK driving licence.
- The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys being out on site rather than being office‑based.
You will be confident dealing with installers and customers, have a good eye for quality and be prepared to get involved and help the team when required.
You will also need to be organised and comfortable with the administrative side of the role, including completing paperwork, updating systems and reporting back to management.
Fenestration experience is essential for this position. Candidates without relevant window and door industry experience will not be considered.
