A specialist supplier and installer of high-quality uPVC, commercial, and retail window and door systems is seeking an experienced Account Manager with a strong background in government contracts, order processing, and customer service.
The successful candidate will manage key public sector accounts, ensure smooth end-to-end order fulfilment, and maintain strong relationships across multiple stakeholders. This role requires someone confident working within structured procurement environments, capable of managing contract compliance, coordinating internal teams, and ensuring accurate order processing from quotation through to installation and aftercare.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with government and public sector clients
- Oversee the full order process from enquiry through to completion and invoicing
- Ensure accurate processing of orders, contracts, and documentation
- Act as the main point of contact for allocated accounts
- Coordinate internal teams including sales, production, logistics, and installation
- Ensure compliance with government procurement frameworks and contract requirements
- Handle customer queries, issues, and escalations professionally and promptly
- Monitor contract performance, KPIs, and service levels
- Identify opportunities for account growth and contract extensions
- Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting documentation
- Support tender and bid processes where required
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Account Manager or similar role
- Strong background working with government or public sector contracts
- Experience in order processing / contract administration
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of construction, fenestration, or building products (uPVC windows/doors preferred)
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- High attention to detail, particularly with documentation and compliance
- Confident communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
Desirable Experience
- Experience in windows, doors, glazing, or construction supply industry
- Familiarity with public procurement frameworks (e.g. CCS, local authority frameworks)
- Experience managing multiple large accounts simultaneously
- Exposure to installation scheduling and project coordination
