Chase Taylor Recruitment are working on behalf of an established and growing home improvement business specialising in the design, supply and installation of windows, doors and conservatories. The company has built a strong reputation within the local market for providing high-quality home improvement products and professional customer service. They offer a complete service from the initial customer enquiry and design through to surveying, installation and aftercare. Their product range includes uPVC windows and doors, composite doors, bi-fold doors, French doors, patio doors and a wide range of conservatories and roof solutions. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Fenestration Surveyor to join their team.

The Role

As a Fenestration Surveyor, you will be responsible for visiting customers across Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas to carry out accurate and detailed surveys. You will be the key technical point of contact during the surveying stage, ensuring that all measurements, specifications and site requirements are captured correctly before projects progress to manufacturing and installation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out residential surveys for windows, doors and conservatories.
  • Taking accurate measurements and recording detailed technical specifications.
  • Assessing existing structures and identifying potential installation or access issues.
  • Surveying conservatories and associated roof systems where required.
  • Completing detailed survey paperwork and ensuring all information is accurate.
  • Liaising directly with customers during site visits and answering technical queries.
  • Identifying potential issues before products are ordered or installation takes place.
  • Working closely with sales, design, installation and administration teams.
  • Managing your own appointments and diary across the surrounding area.
  • Providing a professional and customer-focused service at every appointment.

Accuracy will be particularly important in this position, as your surveys will form the basis for the products being manufactured and installed. You will therefore need to have a strong eye for detail and be confident assessing properties and identifying potential challenges before work begins.

About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience within the window, door and conservatory industry, ideally in a surveying position. This is a technical, customer-facing role, so a strong understanding of domestic fenestration products and installation requirements is essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Fenestration, window, door or conservatory surveying.
  • Measuring and specifying uPVC windows and doors.
  • Surveying conservatories and/or conservatory roof systems.
  • Assessing properties and identifying potential installation issues.
  • Producing accurate technical survey information.
  • Working directly with homeowners in a professional manner.
  • Managing appointments and working independently.
  • Liaising with internal sales, technical and installation teams.

You should be confident working independently, highly organised and comfortable managing your own workload. Excellent communication skills are also essential, as you will represent the business directly in customers' homes. A full UK driving licence is required for the role.
