We are looking for an experienced Extrusion Machine Setter / Operator to join a manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves setting, operating and maintaining uPVC extrusion machinery to produce high-quality products safely and efficiently. You'll take ownership of machine performance, product quality and production output while supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate and optimise uPVC extrusion machinery to achieve production and quality targets.
- Monitor machine performance, make adjustments as required and minimise downtime and waste.
- Carry out in-process quality inspections and maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Diagnose machine and process faults, complete basic maintenance and support engineering teams when required.
- Assist with training colleagues, promoting safe working practices and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures while maintaining high housekeeping standards.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience as a Machine Setter/Operator within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of machine setting, tooling and extrusion processes.
- Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high quality standards.
- Good communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Basic IT, literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable
- Experience within uPVC extrusion manufacturing.
- Forklift Truck Licence.
- Manufacturing or engineering qualification.
