Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join a specialist support services team. This is a rewarding role for a PBS professional who is committed to reducing restrictive practices, empowering support teams, and improving outcomes for individuals with complex needs.

The Role

As a PBS Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting services across the region to embed best practice in Positive Behaviour Support. Working closely with operational teams, support staff, families, and external professionals, you will provide behavioural expertise, coaching, and guidance to ensure high-quality support is delivered consistently. The position involves reviewing and developing PBS plans, analysing behavioural data, supporting assessments and transitions, and helping teams understand and respond effectively to behaviours of concern. This role offers a balance of autonomy and collaboration within a supportive multidisciplinary environment and requires regular travel between services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and support to staff teams on Positive Behaviour Support principles and best practice.
  • Review, develop, and implement high-quality PBS plans.
  • Conduct behavioural assessments, collect data, and analyse outcomes to inform interventions.
  • Support teams to understand and respond positively to behaviours of concern.
  • Promote proactive strategies and restraint reduction approaches.
  • Provide support during assessment visits, service transitions, and complex case reviews.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to enhance confidence, competency, and practice.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate behavioural records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, guidance, policies, and procedures.

About You

The successful candidate will be a compassionate and person-centred professional with strong coaching and leadership skills. You will have experience supporting people with complex needs and be confident working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to improve outcomes and quality of life. You will be highly organised, resilient, and able to balance independent working with effective teamwork in a fast-paced and regulated care environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum two years' experience in a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner role.
  • Postgraduate Diploma, Master's qualification in Positive Behaviour Support, Applied Behaviour Analysis, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Experience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and behaviours of concern.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, and implementing PBS plans.
  • Strong understanding of restrictive practice reduction and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and best practice guidance.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between services.
