Our state-of-the-art theatres provide an exciting and challenging environment, and we are now looking for a skilled Lead Scrub Nurse to join our expanding team.

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Scrub Nurse to provide high-quality clinical care within our surgical theatres. This role requires expertise across multiple specialities, including Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, ENT, and Minor Orthopaedics. As the Lead Scrub Nurse, you will have a key role in coordinating the scrubbing team, providing leadership, and ensuring patient safety at all times.

  • Lead and support a team of scrub nurses, ensuring the highest standards of care and professionalism are maintained.
  • Assist in a wide variety of surgeries, including but not limited to Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, ENT, and Minor Orthopaedics.
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile operating field, ensuring the appropriate instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready and sterile.
  • Take responsibility for patient care throughout the surgical process, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Act as a mentor and support staff development, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Provide leadership and contribute to the overall performance of the theatre team.
  • Monitor and report on the quality of care delivered, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to address them.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Registered Nurse with an active NMC registration.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Scrub Nurse, with expertise in Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, ENT, and Minor Orthopaedics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on patient care and safety.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the demands of the surgical schedule.
  • Advanced Scrub Practitioner qualification or equivalent.
  • Surgical First Assistant.
  • Experience in training and mentoring junior staff members.
