The Role: We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the set-up of new manufacturing facilities and production environments supporting advanced drone and UAV programmes. This is a hands-on delivery role within a fast-paced aerospace and defence business, working closely with engineering, operations and senior leadership to bring new production capability online.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver end-to-end manufacturing facility and production line set-ups from concept to operational readiness.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality and facilities.
- Manage project plans, budgets, risks and reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Oversee factory layouts, equipment installation, commissioning and production ramp-up.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace quality and safety standards.
- Manage contractors, suppliers and infrastructure partners.
Essential Experience:
- 8+ years Project management experience within aerospace, defence or advanced manufacturing facilities set up.
- Proven delivery of new manufacturing facilities or greenfield production environments.
- Strong understanding of production processes and operational scale-up.
- Ability to work on-site in Cambridge.
- Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
Desirable:
- UAV, robotics or aerospace manufacturing programmes.
- AS9100 / regulated engineering environments.
- APM, PRINCE2 or PMP certification.
- Experience in start-up or high-growth technology businesses.
