Chase & Holland are recruiting exclusively for a successful, growing group of companies based in Scunthorpe who are looking for a Sales Ledger Clerk for a minimum 3-month assignment. The role has the potential of going permanent for the right person who proves themselves. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sales Ledger Clerk to showcase their skills and make a difference in a great company.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Raising and issuing sales invoices and credit notes
- Preparing and issuing statements
- Monitor debtor accounts for non-payments and sending overdue payment letters as part of the weekly debt chasing on the different entities
- Setting up and maintaining customer accounts on the Finance system
- Update Sales Ledger accounts with notes and evidence
- Allocate payments on the Finance system
- Investigate and resolve customer queries and resolve discrepancies
- Account reconciliations where needed
- Preparing paperwork and liaising with legal for any nonpayment on accounts
- Preparing weekly debtors report
- Running of monthly reports as part of the Month end closedown
- Providing new company credit checks on an ad hoc basis and reviewing annually
- VAT reclaim issues due to incorrect VAT codes
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of Sales Ledger/ Accounts Receivable/ Credit Control
- Knowledge of VAT in terms of ensuring correct rates are used
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, at all levels, both orally and in writing
- To be able to solve problem accounts and make decisions
- Good team player with the ability to use own initiative
- Ability to prioritise own work and to work accurately under pressure
